Do natural sugars cause weight gain?

I'm trying to cut down on processed sugar for my health, but I consume a lot of fruits and use honey for sweetness. My friend told me that even natural sugars can cause weight gain. Is this true, do natural sugars cause weight gain like refined ones?

If you eat them in moderate amounts through whole fruits, they generally don't cause weight gain. Just eat mindfully and you will be absolutely fine.

Well, sugar is sugar to our waistlines at fifty! Whether it comes from organic honey or a sweet mango, too much of it will definitely make those old pants tighter. Moderation is the key, unfortunately!

I used to be so terrified of eating apples or bananas because of 'sugar' and felt so miserable. Please don't fear natural fruits; they have fiber which keeps you full and are so much better than processed sweets.

My son loves eating mangoes and chikus, and we were worried about his weight. We realized as long as he eats the whole fruit instead of drinking strained juices, his weight and energy stay very stable.

Natural sugars in whole foods come packed with vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, which slows down absorption. But if you consume lots of honey, jaggery, or fruit juices, the excess calories can still cause weight gain.
