Do men need less sleep than women?

My wife needs at least 8 hours of sleep, but I feel fine with 6-7 hours. She always tells me I'm shortchanging myself. Do men actually need less sleep than women, or is it just individual preference?

Look, sleep depends on how tired you are and your daily activity, not your gender. Both men and women need a solid 7 to 8 hours to function properly next day, simple as that.

My father always said 8 hours of sleep is necessary for any human being, regardless of gender. Our family doctor also emphasizes that deep, quality sleep is what actually repairs the body, not just the hours.

No, dear, both men and women need proper rest to stay healthy. Make sure you aren't sacrificing your sleep for work, because your health is far more important than anything else.

I used to sleep only 5 hours thinking guys don't need much, but I ended up with severe fatigue and high stress levels last month. Now I strictly sleep 7-8 hours and feel so much better, so please don't skip sleep.

Actually, studies show women might need slightly more sleep due to hormonal cycles, but everyone needs decent rest. Take care and sleep well.

Haha, I wish I needed less sleep! If I don't get my full 8 hours, I act like a zombie. We all need our beauty sleep, guys!
