Do lipomas shrink with weight loss?

I have these fatty lumps, lipomas, on my back and arms. My doctor said they are harmless but I'm trying to lose weight for general health. Wondering if these lipomas will actually shrink or disappear with weight loss?

I have had three small lipomas on my forearms for years. Last year I lost around 12 kgs through strict dieting, but those fatty lumps did not shrink or change size at all. My doctor told me they are benign and generally don't go away with weight loss.

My husband has a couple of lipomas on his back. We asked our local family doctor, and he said they are just harmless fat cells clumped together under the skin and don't disappear with diet. If they are not paining or growing rapidly, it's best to just leave them alone.

From what I've seen in the gym, even athletes with very low body fat percentages can have lipomas. Losing fat might actually make the lipoma look more prominent because the surrounding fat decreases. Just focus on staying fit and don't stress about these harmless lumps.

I have one small lipoma on my thigh. Even when my weight fluctuated during my PCOS management, the lump remained exactly the same size. It is a bit annoying, but as long as a doctor has confirmed it is benign, we shouldn't worry too much about it.

In our experience, these fatty lumps or 'gath' don't dissolve easily with weight loss or fasting. Some people recommend applying warm turmeric paste, but it rarely shrinks them. If they start hurting or changing color, please get them checked by a surgeon.
