Do laxatives aid weight loss?
I'm really trying to lose weight quickly, and I've heard some people use laxatives for that purpose. Do laxatives actually aid in real, sustainable weight loss, or is it just water weight?

Listen to me on this, please do not use laxatives for losing weight. They only clear your bowels and water weight, not body fat, and abusing them can seriously mess up your system. Eat healthy and give your body some time to change naturally, okay?
Please be very careful with this. I tried taking herbal laxatives regularly last year thinking it would help me slim down, but it ended up causing severe dehydration and painful gut issues. If you are struggling with weight, please consult a good clinical dietitian instead of self-treating.
Arey, if losing weight was as simple as clearing your stomach, we all would be thin by now! Laxatives just make you run to the washroom and deplete your hydration. The moment you drink water, that weight comes right back, only leaving you exhausted.
No yaar, actually that's a big myth. Laxatives only flush out water from your body, fat loss toh zero hota hai. If you keep doing it, your body will lose important minerals and you will feel completely drained out. Don't go down that road.
Haha, no way! I love my food too much to try such extreme short-cuts. Trust me, clearing out your system through laxatives won't burn off the butter chicken or parathas we enjoy. Better to just balance your heavy meals with a good walk the next day.

Honestly, I fell into this trap a few months back before my cousin's wedding. I lost maybe two kilos in three days but felt incredibly weak, dizzy, and bloated afterwards. It is completely temporary and absolutely not worth the stomach cramps and weakness.
