Do fiber supplements help with weight loss?

My doctor suggested I increase my fiber intake for better digestion and overall health, especially for managing my weight. I'm wondering, do fiber supplements actually help with weight loss, or is it better to get fiber from food sources only?

Let's be direct: supplements alone won't make you lose weight if your overall diet is bad. Yes, psyllium husk or fiber powders can make you feel full for a bit, but you still need a proper calorie deficit. Use them as a minor tool, not a lazy shortcut.

Don't blindly buy those expensive powders promoted by wellness influencers online. Some of these supplements can cause severe bloating, gas, or even blockages if not taken with enough water. Always consult a certified nutritionist or doctor before starting any supplement routine.

I am thinking of adding a fiber powder to my morning water to control my appetite. Does it actually help with cravings, or will it just make me feel bloated and uncomfortable? I have a sensitive stomach.

Natural fiber from oats and green salads has helped me manage both my weight and my blood pressure. Supplements can be a good backup, but overall lifestyle changes like regular walking and cutting down salt are far more important. Keep getting your routine health checks done.

Hey, fiber supplements can help keep your digestion smooth, which indirectly support fitness goals, but they aren't fat burners. Just try adding more oats, green leafy veggies, and whole fruits to your meals. It is much safer, cheaper, and better for your gut health in the long run.

I started taking Isabgol (psyllium husk) before dinner last year on my friend's advice. Personally, it did help me feel quite full, so I ended up eating smaller portions of rice. But I also had to double my daily water intake to avoid constipation.
