Do collagen peptides help with weight loss?

I've been trying to lose some stubborn belly fat and improve my overall fitness. I saw an ad for collagen peptides claiming they can aid in weight management. Do collagen peptides help with weight loss, or is their primary benefit for skin and joints?

They can make you feel full because they are a form of protein, which helps you eat less. But they won't burn fat on their own. Just focus on eating clean, simple home meals and walking a bit every day.

I use collagen powder in my morning coffee, and it definitely helps keep me full until lunchtime so I don't snack on biscuits. But honestly, it's just a protein supplement. I only lost weight when I combined it with calorie tracking and workouts.

I bought an expensive tub of marine collagen last week hoping it would help with my diet, but I feel a bit bloated after taking it. Has anyone else felt bloated or gained water weight from collagen? I'm scared to keep taking it.

I read so many conflicting articles about collagen causing gut issues vs helping with weight loss that it made my head spin! If you decide to try it, start with a very small dose to see how your stomach reacts. It's just protein, so don't stress too much, but listen to your body.

I can only speak from my own experience, but taking collagen didn't make any difference to my weight. It did make my knee joints feel a bit smoother during my morning jogs, though. For actual fat loss, cutting out sugar worked best for me.

At fifty, my joints creak more than my wooden doors, so I take collagen for my knees, not my waistline! If it helped with weight loss, I would have been thin by now. Unfortunately, we still have to do the actual hard work of eating less.
