Do cold showers help weight loss?

I've started taking cold showers in the mornings after seeing some videos online claiming various health benefits. Some people even say it helps with losing weight. Do cold showers actually help weight loss, or is that an exaggeration?

Look brother, cold showers alone won't make you thin. It might boost your metabolism slightly for a few minutes, but unless you control your diet and burn calories daily, nothing is going to change. Don't freeze yourself expecting miracles!

I actually researched this extensively because I read about brown fat activation. My doctor explained that while cold exposure does stimulate brown adipose tissue slightly, the actual calorie burn is negligible. He advised me to stick to a calorie-deficit diet and regular cardio for real fat loss.

The only weight I lose during a cold shower is the weight of my sins because I scream so much! Jokes aside, it just makes you shiver, which burns like two extra calories. Stick to walking and skipping sweets instead.

In Ayurveda, cold water baths are known to stimulate the nervous system and improve blood circulation. They wake up the body beautifully, but for weight loss, you must pair this energy with yoga asanas and a light, sattvik diet.

They definitely help you feel fresh and alert, but don't force yourself into freezing showers thinking it's a shortcut to lose weight. Focus on sleeping well and eating clean home-cooked meals instead. Take care of your health first, don't fall for internet trends.

I tried cold showers for three months during my weight loss journey. While it didn't directly melt any fat, it really helped me recover from heavy gym workouts and reduced muscle soreness. Use it for recovery, but rely on your diet for actual weight loss.
