Do bowel movements help with weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight, and I've been focusing a lot on diet and exercise. My trainer suggested that regular bowel movements are also important. Do bowel movements help with weight loss directly or indirectly?

It only clears out waste and water weight, not actual body fat. If you want a smooth digestion, just add more fiber to your diet with simple salads and drink enough warm water daily.

Please don't confuse clearing your bowels with losing fat. I ignored my chronic constipation for a long time thinking it was just a weight issue, and it led to severe piles. Get checked by a doctor if your digestion is erratic.

Haha, no yaar, poop doesn't equal fat loss! It just makes you feel lighter and less bloated. Don't stress too much about the daily scale fluctuations, focus on good food instead.

Having a regular bowel movement is good for removing toxins, not fat. I take a spoonful of isabgol with warm milk at night for constipation. If you have chronic digestion issues, please consult a proper doctor.

If you are experiencing sudden weight loss along with changes in your bowel movements, it could be a sign of something else. It is always safest to get a complete gastrointestinal checkup from a physician.

Be careful, some people start taking laxatives hoping to lose weight and end up destroying their gut health. I had severe electrolyte imbalance because of this. Please see a doctor instead of trying extreme shortcuts.

In my experience, when my digestion improved, I only lost about half a kilo of water weight instantly, but my actual body size didn't change. It just helped me feel way more comfortable in my clothes.

I used to think being constipated was keeping me heavy, but weight loss only happens when you are in a calorie deficit. Regular bowel movements just reduce the bloating. Eat your oats, drink water, and keep moving.
