Do ankle weights help with weight loss?

I'm trying to incorporate more walking into my routine for weight loss. I saw some people wearing ankle weights at the park and thought it might help. Does adding ankle weights really make a difference for losing weight, or is it just extra strain?

Honestly, they only add a tiny bit of resistance while walking. If your weight is stuck, it might be due to internal hormonal issues like thyroid. It is better to get your blood tests done once and consult a doctor first.

Why waste money on fancy ankle weights, yaar? Just increase your walking speed or take the stairs at your office. Controlling your diet and eating thoda light dinner will show much better results without risking any joint pain.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself to buy these extra things. Just keep moving and stay consistent with your daily routine. Any physical activity you do naturally will help you in the long run.

Beta, wearing heavy weights on your ankles can sometimes strain your joints and knees. For weight loss, simple brisk walking in the morning and drinking warm water with lemon is much safer and time-tested. Don't rush into these modern gym trends.

I tried using ankle weights during my evening walks last year but honestly, they didn't make any difference to my weight. With a busy schedule, a quick 20-minute HIIT workout at home is a much better use of time if you want to burn calories.

Actually, my doctor told me that ankle weights don't really burn extra fat and can actually alter your walking style, leading to ankle or hip pain. They are better suited for specific physical therapy exercises. For pure weight loss, you need a calorie deficit.
