Can zoloft help with weight loss?

I've been struggling to lose weight for a while now. Recently, I heard a friend mention that Zoloft can sometimes help with weight loss. Is this true, or is it not meant for that purpose?

Honestly, I was searching about this last week because a friend got prescribed Zoloft. From what I read, it actually varies a lot from person to person. Some people lose appetite initially, but others say they ended up gaining a bit of weight. It is definitely not meant to be a weight loss pill.

Please don't focus too much on the weight aspect right now. What is most important is that your mind feels peaceful and positive. Take care of your mental health first, eat wholesome food with gratitude, and let your body heal naturally. Positive thoughts will guide you to the right balance.

Do not trust what random people say on online forums about these strong medicines. Zoloft is a serious antidepressant, not some weight loss supplement you can just try out. You must ask your psychiatrist directly about how this medication will affect your body weight.

Bro, my roommate was on this last semester. He actually lost some weight in the first month because he just didn't feel like eating anything. But after he settled into the routine, his appetite came back to normal. Better to just ask your doc instead of guessing.

Hey, don't stress too much about the weight thing right now! Your mental peace is way more important than a few kilos here and there. Just take your meds as prescribed and keep a check on how you feel. We can always plan a fun workout routine together later!

Having PCOS, I know how sensitive our bodies are to any hormonal or chemical changes. When my doctor discussed anxiety meds, they warned me that weight shifts can go either way. It is really best to consult your specialist who knows your complete health history before starting.
