Can you take vitamin c during pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and feeling a bit low on energy. Someone recommended taking Vitamin C supplements. Is it generally considered safe to take Vitamin C while pregnant?

I was researching about prenatal vitamins today and read that Vitamin C is very helpful for iron absorption. But apparently, taking too much can also cause issues. Better to ask your gynaecologist for the right daily dose.

Haan beta, Vitamin C is very good during pregnancy. You can eat fresh oranges, amla, and lemons daily. If you want to take tablets, just ask your doctor once so they can give you the right brand.

I totally get it, you want to make sure you are taking all the right nutrients for your baby's growth. Vitamin C is wonderful, but getting it from natural fruits is always the safest bet. Do check with your doctor for any supplements.

Eating fresh citrus fruits, tomatoes, and green leafy vegetables is the best natural way to get Vitamin C. If you are feeling very weak or have other symptoms, please see your doctor for proper advice.

Even simple vitamins can cause stomach issues or interact with other supplements if taken in high doses. I had a difficult pregnancy, so I always advise consulting your OB-GYN before starting any new tablet.
