Can you spot in early pregnancy?

I've just found out I'm pregnant, barely 6 weeks along. I've noticed some very light spotting for the last two days, and I'm really worried. Is spotting in early pregnancy normal, or should I rush to the doctor immediately?

Yes, my wife had some spotting early on and we spent the night googling instead of sleeping. Turns out it's fairly common implantation bleeding, but please call your doc so you can actually get some sleep!

I had light spotting that I ignored, which later turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. Please do not ignore any spotting or mild pain in early pregnancy; get an ultrasound done immediately.

I know stress can shoot up your blood pressure, which isn't good during pregnancy. Keep yourself calm, avoid physical exertion, and get a quick checkup done with your gynaecologist to rule out any risks.

Eating a balanced diet and keeping your body cool helps, but spotting is a physical process. While light spotting is common, you must avoid self-managing and consult your doctor for any bleeding.

Don't panic, minor spotting can happen when the embryo implants. Just rest up, don't lift anything heavy, and inform your gynaecologist today just to be completely safe.
