Can you lift heavy things during pregnancy?

I'm 5 months pregnant and my family often asks me not to lift anything heavy, even small weights. I usually do my own grocery shopping and carry bags. Is it actually harmful to lift heavy things during pregnancy?

My cousin sister was super careful about this when she was pregnant. She literally didn't lift anything heavier than a water bottle! Everyone says it's better to avoid lifting heavy stuff to be on the safe side.

During pregnancy, the body releases hormones that loosen your ligaments, making you more prone to injuries. Instead of lifting heavy weights, focus on light stretching and pranayama to keep your core stable and healthy.

Having gone through a difficult pregnancy myself, I highly recommend avoiding any heavy lifting. It is simply not worth the risk of back strain or other complications. Let the family members handle all the heavy chores for now.

I understand you might feel tempted to do your normal work, but your body is going through so much change. If you feel any stretch or mild pain, immediately rest and drink some warm water. Avoid lifting anything heavy at all.

Keep your body relaxed and drink coconut water daily to stay hydrated. Avoid lifting heavy bags or buckets completely. If you ever feel sudden pain or cramping after accidentally lifting something, go see your doctor immediately.

Please avoid lifting heavy objects. It puts unnecessary pressure on your abdomen and is not safe during pregnancy.

Make sure you are eating nutrient-rich food like dates and dry fruits to keep your energy up. Since your muscles are soft right now, heavy lifting is not recommended. Focus on good nutrition and light walks instead.

Hey, please don't push yourself to do everything on your own right now. Lifting heavy items can strain your lower back which is already carrying extra weight. Just tell someone else to lift it for you, it is absolutely okay to ask for help.

Bilkul nahi, kya zaroorat hai heavy saman uthane ki? Just leave the heavy work to others for a few months. Your priority is to stay safe and healthy right now, simple as that.

Our elders always advise not to lift buckets of water or shift furniture during this time. I strictly followed this, and my doctor also agreed that heavy strain can put pressure on your pelvic floor. Please be careful and take help.
