Can women take finasteride for hair loss?

I've been dealing with significant hair loss lately, and it's quite distressing. My brother uses finasteride, but I know it's primarily for men. Can women also take finasteride for hair loss, or is it not recommended?

I can only speak from my own experience with severe hair fall. My dermatologist strictly told me that finasteride is not safe for women of childbearing age due to serious risks, and prescribed me different topical solutions instead.

Finasteride is usually not recommended for women, especially if they plan to have kids, because of side effects. Before buying expensive hair supplements, get a basic iron and thyroid test done first, as deficiency is often the real reason for hair loss.

I panicked so much when my hair started thinning and wanted to try every medicine I saw online, including finasteride. But my doctor explained it's highly unsafe for young women and put me on a gentle routine. Don't worry, there are safer options for us.

Beti, ye dawa bina doctor ke pooche kabhi mat lena. Baalon ke liye amla aur bhringraj ka tel lagana thik hai, par aisi tez dawaiyaan nuksaan kar sakti hain, isliye bade doctor se salah zaroor lo.

I understand hair loss can be very stressful. Please consult a dermatologist before taking finasteride, as it is generally not advised for women due to hormonal risks. Take care of yourself.

As someone managing high BP, I know how sensitive our bodies are to strong drugs. Finasteride has strong hormonal effects and is usually avoided in women. Focus on a stress-free lifestyle and get your hormone levels checked by a doctor first.

I take finasteride for my male pattern baldness, but my doctor told me it's totally different for women. It can cause serious birth defects, so women shouldn't even handle crushed tablets. Definitely consult a dermatologist for female hair loss treatments.
