Who told you women don't get kidney stones? Of course they do, and the pain is absolutely terrible. It usually happens if you don't drink enough water throughout the day, especially in our hot summers. Make sure you are drinking at least 3 liters daily.
Actually, yes yaar, women get them a lot. My own sister had to be hospitalized last year because of a 5mm kidney stone. We always think it only happens to men, but that is totally a myth. You have to keep yourself hydrated, especially if you love spicy food like us!
I actually had no idea that women could also get kidney stones, I thought it was very rare for us. What are the main symptoms we should look out for? Does it start with simple back pain or is there something else too?
Yeah, my mom actually had one during my exams and she was in so much pain. I used to think it was a guy thing too, but the doctor told us it's super common in women now, especially with bad diet and less water intake. Keep a water bottle with you always.
I totally get it, the pain of kidney stones is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I went through this two years ago and it was incredibly painful and scary. Women definitely get them, so please take care of yourself and drink plenty of fluids.

Yes, women get them just as much as men, and having other conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes can sometimes make you more prone to kidney issues. It is highly important to get routine blood tests and kidney function tests done, along with keeping your salt intake in check.
Yes, women absolutely get kidney stones, and dietary habits play a huge role. I track my daily water intake on my fitness app to make sure I hit 3 liters, as high sodium or calcium oxalate can build up. If you are getting lower back or side pain, definitely go get an ultrasound.
