Can weight loss reverse hypothyroidism?

I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have gained a lot of weight because of it. I'm trying to lose weight now, and I heard someone say that weight loss might help reverse hypothyroidism. Is this really possible?

Hypothyroidism completely reverse hona thoda mushkil hai, par weight loss se symptoms mein bohot aaram milta hai. Maine subah dhaniya ka paani peena aur thoda walk karna shuru kiya tha, usse kafi madad mili.

I have had thyroid issues for the last twenty years. Let me tell you, losing weight makes you feel much more active, but you will still need to take your daily thyroid tablet. It manages the condition, doesn't completely reverse it.

Honestly, weight loss with hypothyroidism feels like climbing Mount Everest without any sleep. It doesn't reverse the condition entirely but it definitely helps you feel less like a zombie. Just don't skip your medication!

I was just diagnosed with mild thyroid and I'm really scared about weight gain. If I start exercising and lose weight now, is there any chance my thyroid levels will go back to normal without starting lifelong medicines?

Dekho boss, seedhi baat hai. Weight loss se aapki health behtar hogi par thyroid ki goli band nahi ho sakti jab tak doctor na bole. Don't play with your hormone levels on your own.

It does not reverse it because hypothyroidism is usually an autoimmune or structural issue. However, keeping your weight in check helps lower your thyroid hormone requirement. Focus on strength training and check your TSH every 3 months.
