Can weight loss improve eyesight?

My eyesight has been getting a bit blurry lately, and I've also been trying to lose weight. Someone at my gym mentioned that sometimes weight loss can improve eyesight for some people. Is there any truth to this?

Honestly, I am so sleep-deprived from late-night baby shifts that my eyes are always blurry anyway! But I don't think losing weight suddenly gives you 20/20 vision, though it might help overall blood flow.

I used to panic thinking my blurry vision was due to my diet changes. Later, my doctor reassured me that weight loss stabilizes blood sugar, which actually prevents diabetic retinopathy. It is totally normal for your eyes to feel more comfortable.

If weight loss is because of a healthier diet with green vegetables, it can definitely support eye health. My child's eye doctor always stresses giving them leafy greens and fresh fruits to keep their vision stable.

Wait, really? I thought only eating carrots helped eyesight, not losing weight. Unless u mean reducing screen time while working out, that definitely helps my eyes feel less tired.

Losing weight won't cure basic refractive errors like myopia, but it protects against high blood pressure and diabetes, which are major causes of serious eye damage. Keep eating healthy and get your eyes tested regularly.
