Can weight loss cause hernia?

My uncle recently had a hernia operation, and he said the doctor mentioned sometimes losing a lot of weight can reveal or even contribute to them. I'm on a significant weight loss journey myself. Can weight loss actually cause a hernia?

Weight loss itself doesn't cause a hernia, but sometimes when we do heavy workouts or incorrect lifting to lose weight, it can put too much pressure on weak abdominal muscles. Gentle yogic practices and core strengthening can help, but do it carefully.

Don't listen to random internet tips when it comes to things like hernia. If you are feeling a bulge or pain in your abdomen or groin, go to a proper clinic and get an ultrasound done. Only a real doctor can tell you what is actually happening.

My son had a hernia after he suddenly lost a lot of weight and started lifting heavy gym weights without proper supervision. Please make sure you are not straining your stomach too hard during exercise. Take care and don't push your body too fast.

I always go to a reputed hospital for any health issue instead of guessing. A hernia is a structural issue, and if you suspect you have one from rapid weight loss or strenuous gymming, please book an appointment with a general surgeon. They will give you the right advice.

I was just reading up on this because my uncle is planning a weight loss program. It seems rapid weight loss can sometimes weaken the connective tissues, making a hernia more likely if there is sudden physical strain. Quite fascinating and scary!

Actually, hernia tab hota hai jab abdominal wall weak ho jaye, ya phir heavy weights lift karne se pressure badhe. Weight loss itself direct cause nahi hai yaar. Just don't overdo the gymming without a proper trainer, okay?

Wait, I didn't know this was even a thing! I thought losing weight made u healthier. I guess if you're doing heavy weightlifting at the gym to burn fat, that extra strain might cause a tear if u don't use proper form.

Please do not worry so much, stress only weakens the body's natural healing power. Keep your mind calm and focus on nourishing yourself with wholesome food. If your body is showing any discomfort, listen to it gently and rest.

Hello, I am new to fitness and just started dieting. Is it possible that even simple home workouts or jogging can cause this issue? I am a bit scared now and would love to know if there are specific warning signs to look out for.

Actually, losing weight usually reduces pressure on the stomach and helps with hernia. Just avoid heavy lifting or sudden high-impact exercises if your core is weak. Focus on light walking and basic dietary changes first.
