Can weight loss cause constipation?

I'm on a new diet plan to shed some extra kilos, and while I'm seeing results, I've also become very constipated. My food intake has changed quite a bit. Can weight loss efforts lead to problems like constipation?

When you reduce your food intake, your bowel movements naturally slow down. I always drink warm water with a spoonful of organic ghee at night, which lubricates the gut and clears constipation easily.

The body is a delicate system; when we change our diet, it takes time to find its peace. Eat fresh, high-fiber seasonal fruits and drink enough water. Stay positive and let your body adapt naturally.

In my experience, when I went on a low-carb diet to lose weight, I got terrible constipation because my fiber intake dropped. Adding a tablespoon of psyllium husk (isabgol) to my daily routine completely solved it for me.

With PCOS, diet changes can easily disrupt our digestion. While constipation is common during weight loss, it is safer to talk to your doctor to ensure you aren't missing out on crucial nutrients.

Often, when people start dieting, they reduce their overall food volume and also forget to drink enough water. Keep your hydration high and ensure you are eating enough green veggies alongside your workouts.
