Can u get stomach cramps in early pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant, but I've been experiencing some mild stomach cramps, almost like period pain. It's making me quite anxious. Is it normal to have stomach cramps in the very early stages of pregnancy?

Yes, early pregnancy cramps are totally a thing! When I was pregnant, I kept getting these mild cramps and actually thought it was just gas from eating too many parathas. But it was just the uterus stretching. Just make sure to eat light!

I just went through this in my first trimester. Mild cramping is very common as the embryo implants and the uterus begins to expand. However, if the cramps are very severe, on one side, or you see any bleeding, please see a doctor immediately.

I am in my 6th week and getting these constant mild cramps. I am so worried and keep checking if everything is okay. Did anyone else have this early on and go on to have a perfectly healthy baby? I really need some reassurance.

Mild, period-like cramping in early pregnancy is usually normal due to implantation and your uterus stretching. But as a general rule, if the cramping is severe, doesn't go away with rest, or is accompanied by spotting, you should contact your doctor right away.

Please be very careful. While mild cramps can be normal, severe stomach pains can sometimes indicate an ectopic pregnancy or early miscarriage. I had a severe scare last year. Please don't ignore it and get an ultrasound done to be safe.
