Can type 1 diabetics take glp 1 for weight loss?

I have Type 1 diabetes and also struggle with my weight, especially since insulin started. I heard about GLP-1 injections helping with weight loss in diabetics. Is this something Type 1 diabetics can also consider for weight management?

Hey there! GLP-1 drugs are mainly FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and general weight loss, but for type 1, it's a gray area because it can trigger diabetic ketoacidosis. Please don't try it without a strict prescription from your endocrinologist.

Using GLP-1 for weight loss is super trendy, but with type 1, it's a different ball game. It slows down stomach emptying, which makes tracking your insulin-to-carb ratio really hard. Focus on consistent strength training and consult your doc.

I've been reading a lot about GLP-1s lately because they are all over social media. From what I found, they aren't standard for type 1 weight loss and can be risky. Definitely worth checking with your doctor to see what they say.

For shedding weight safely, a regular daily walking routine can do wonders for insulin sensitivity, if your doctor permits. These new GLP-1 drugs can cause sudden sugar drops in type 1. Please discuss safe weight loss options with your doctor first.

Bhaiya, please don't take these heavy weight-loss injections on your own. They can be very harsh on the stomach. For type 1, safety is most important, so please ask your city hospital doctor before trying anything.
