Can thyroid affect weight loss?

I've been trying very hard to lose weight, exercising and dieting, but it's just not coming off. Someone suggested my thyroid might be slow, so can thyroid issues really affect how difficult it is to lose weight?

If your thyroid is off, no amount of intense workouts will show results. Get your blood panel checked first. Once your medication dose is corrected by a doctor, your metabolism will normalize, and your weight loss efforts will finally start showing results.

Yes, an underactive thyroid can slow down your metabolism, making weight loss very difficult. Before spending money on expensive dieticians or gym memberships, get a basic TSH blood test from a local lab. It only costs around 200-300 rupees and will save you a lot of wasted effort.

I was working out like crazy and eating nothing but gaining weight, which made me panic. It turned out to be hypothyroidism. Don't worry, once my doctor put me on a small daily tablet, my weight stabilized and I slowly started losing the extra pounds.

True, thyroid totally blocks weight loss if untreated. Make sure you take your thyroid pill on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before tea or breakfast.

I go to a reputed hospital in my city for my thyroid checkups, and the endocrinologist clearly explained how T3 and T4 levels control our calorie burning. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor to explain your reports in detail so you can plan your diet correctly.

Hey, don't beat yourself up if you aren't losing weight. If it's a thyroid issue, it is a metabolic problem, not a lack of willpower. Just focus on getting your medication right first, and the rest will fall into place slowly. Take care.

Actually, thyroid makes weight loss so hard, yaar! You feel like you are eating like a bird and still putting on weight. Honestly, just get your TSH checked because trying to starve yourself without fixing the hormone balance is totally useless.

Eating soaked coriander seeds water in the morning can help support thyroid health naturally, but you cannot rely on home remedies alone for weight issues. If you are constantly fatigued and gaining weight, please see a proper doctor for thyroid tests.

As a pharmacist, I see many people struggling with weight because their thyroid dose isn't right. If your thyroid gland is underactive, your basal metabolic rate drops. Speak to your doctor about adjusting your thyroxine dose if you're unable to shed weight despite a good lifestyle.

My mother always tells me to include more curry leaves and coconut in my diet for thyroid health, which is very good. However, for actual weight management issues caused by thyroid, we must trust the doctor's prescribed dosage and get our blood tested regularly.

I have been on thyroid medication for two months now but my weight still hasn't budget at all. Is anyone else facing this slow response? I am starting to worry if my dosage is too low or if I will ever lose this weight.

I completely understand how frustrating it is to see no progress on the scale despite trying so hard; it used to make me so anxious. Please know that it's likely just your thyroid slowing things down, and it's not your fault. Give your body some time to heal.
