Can sit-ups cause miscarriage in early pregnancy?

Just found out I'm pregnant, barely a few weeks along. I've been doing sit-ups as part of my routine, but now I'm worried. Can doing sit-ups in very early pregnancy increase the risk of a miscarriage?

I completely understand your anxiety, especially in the early weeks when every little movement makes you worry. While a few sit-ups might not directly cause harm, it's very natural to feel scared about doing intense core exercises.

Please be very careful and do not do sit-ups. I had early pregnancy complications and my gynaecologist strictly advised against any heavy abdominal pressure or core workouts. Always consult your doctor before doing any exercise.

Look, early pregnancy is a very delicate phase. Why take unnecessary risks with heavy stomach-straining exercises like sit-ups? Stop them immediately and focus on simple, safe walks instead.

Abdominal pressure from sit-ups is generally not recommended in early pregnancy, so please stop and consult your doctor.

As someone who loves fitness, I had to modify my routines during pregnancy. Avoid sit-ups as they put too much pressure on the abdominal wall; instead, opt for light walking and gentle stretches if your gynaecologist gives the green light.
