Can pregnant women sleep on their stomach?

As my bump gets bigger, I'm finding it really hard to fall asleep in any other position. I used to be a stomach sleeper. Is it safe for pregnant women to sleep on their stomach, especially in the early stages or with a pregnancy pillow?

I was looking this up because my wife is an exclusive stomach sleeper and she's worried about the coming months. Apparently, it is completely fine in the early weeks when the bump is tiny, but later on, it's physically impossible and uncomfortable anyway. Transitioning to side sleeping early might make it easier.

With all the midnight biryani cravings and digestive issues during pregnancy, sleeping on my stomach sounds like a recipe for instant heartburn! Better to stay comfortable on your side with lots of pillows. Save the stomach sleeping for after the baby arrives and you can finally eat and sleep in peace.

Heh, back when we had our kids, my wife tried sleeping on her stomach once in the second trimester and said it felt like balancing on a bowling ball. Save yourself the struggle! Side sleeping is much easier, and you'll need all the rest you can get before the sleepless nights start.

I can only speak from what my wife went through during her pregnancy. She slept on her stomach during the first few weeks, but by the fourth month, her body naturally couldn't handle the pressure. She switched to using a C-shaped pillow to support her side, which helped her sleep better.

In the early months it doesn't cause harm, but as the baby grows, you must sleep on your side to keep the baby safe and healthy. Drinking warm milk with a little fennel before bed helps with digestion and sleep. If you ever feel severe cramping or discomfort, please consult your doctor immediately.

I panicked so much when I woke up flat on my stomach during my fifth month, thinking I had hurt the baby. My doctor laughed gently and said the baby is cushioned in a sack of fluid and is perfectly safe. Just try to sleep on your side, but don't stress if you roll over occasionally.
