Can pregnant women sleep on their right side?

I'm in my third trimester, and finding a comfortable sleeping position is a challenge. I heard sleeping on the left side is best, but what about the right? Can pregnant women sleep on their right side, or is it not recommended?

Yes, sleeping on the right side is perfectly fine, though doctors say the left side is slightly better for blood circulation. If you feel any heavy acidity or breathing trouble, try elevating your head with an extra pillow. If any discomfort becomes severe, please check with your doctor immediately.

My wife struggled with sleep during her pregnancy, and she couldn't stay on her left side all night because her hip would hurt. The doctor told her that switching to the right side is completely fine to give her joints some relief. Don't worry, staying comfortable is key to getting good rest.

I used to get so stressed if I accidentally rolled onto my right side, thinking I was doing something wrong! But honestly, both sides are safe, and my doctor assured me that the left side is just a slight preference. Don't let the sleep anxiety ruin your rest, you are doing great.

Sleeping on the right side is absolutely fine if it keeps you comfortable. If you find your hips or lower back aching from side sleeping, try some light prenatal stretches during the day and use a pillow between your knees to keep your pelvis aligned.

I actually asked my OB-GYN about this because my back was hurting from only sleeping on the left. She explained that while the left side maximizes blood flow to the placenta, the right side is a perfectly safe alternative to relieve pressure. The main goal is to avoid sleeping flat on your back in the late stages.

Yes, sleeping on either side is considered safe and effective during pregnancy. While left-side sleeping is often highlighted for optimal circulation, the right side is also perfectly acceptable. It is always wise to discuss your sleep comfort with your doctor during your routine visits.

As a working mom-to-be, I just needed some actual sleep without overanalyzing every movement. My doctor told me right-side sleeping is totally fine; the body naturally shifts when uncomfortable. Just buy a good body pillow and focus on getting those solid hours of rest.
