Can pinworms cause weight loss?

I've been feeling quite tired and have lost some weight recently without trying. I also heard my niece had pinworms, and now I'm wondering. Is it possible for pinworms to cause weight loss in adults?

Yes, absolutely. If you have a severe worm infection for a long time, it can cause weight loss because they absorb the nutrients from your food. Don't worry, just take a deworming tablet after consulting a doctor.

Yes, chronic pinworm infections can lead to weight loss due to poor nutrient absorption. I suggest visiting a good general physician rather than taking over-the-counter medicine. Ask your doctor clearly about the dosage for the entire family, as everyone in the house usually needs treatment.

If you're losing weight suddenly, pinworms could be a reason, especially if you have stomach pain and itching at night. Save yourself the trouble of long-term fatigue and get a simple stool test done. A single doctor's visit can resolve this quickly.

Bro, yes. I lost like 3-4 kgs last year because of worm issues and kept wondering why I was looking so thin. Once the doctor gave me the deworming pill, my appetite came back and my weight went back to normal.

Well, they steal your nutrients, so yes, they can make you lose weight! Though I wouldn't recommend them as a diet plan. Just get a prescription from a doctor and sleep peacefully without the midnight itching.
