Can parasites cause weight loss?

My younger brother has been losing a lot of weight recently, even though he eats well. He also complains of a bit of stomach discomfort. Someone at work mentioned that sometimes parasites can be the reason behind unexplained weight loss. Is this true?

Yes, stomach worms or parasites definitely cause weight loss because they eat up all the nutrition from your food. While you should see a doctor for the proper deworming medicine, you can also drink warm water and eat a small piece of jaggery on an empty stomach in the morning to help soothe the system.

Yes, my grandmother always used to say that if a person is eating well but still losing weight, it is likely because of stomach worms. While traditional home advice is good, I always trust a doctor first. A simple stool test and the right prescription will solve this safely.

Oh absolutely! If you are eating all your favorite street food but still dropping weight, parasites might be gatecrashing your meals. It is definitely time to put the spicy food on pause and get a doctor to check your stomach. Once cleared, you can enjoy your meals guilt-free!
