Can ovulation tests pick up pregnancy?

My friend told me that her ovulation tests were showing positive when she was actually pregnant. Is it true that ovulation tests can sometimes pick up pregnancy? Should I try this if my period is late?

I have seen this question pop up quite a few times here. Yes, because LH and hCG are molecularly similar, an ovulation test might show positive if you are pregnant, but it is not a foolproof science at all. For peace of mind, it is always best to buy a proper early pregnancy detection kit.

As someone who had a difficult pregnancy journey with severe complications, I strongly advise against using off-label methods like this. Misinterpreting these tests can cause you to delay essential early prenatal care. If you suspect you are pregnant, please consult your gynaecologist for a proper evaluation.

I know exactly how heartbreaking and exhausting this waiting game can be, and how tempting it is to use whatever test you have at home. But please, don't put yourself through the emotional rollercoaster of trying to read an ovulation strip for pregnancy. It's so easy to get false hopes this way, so hang in there and wait for the real test.

Haan na, it is very confusing with all these different strips available now. Actually, ovulation test ka logic alag hota hai and pregnancy test ka alag, even if sometimes they show positive due to hormone similarities. It's better not to take risk and use the proper pregnancy kit, ho na?

I totally get it, the curiosity during the two-week wait can literally drive you crazy! You just want to use whatever is lying around in your drawer. But honestly, those ovulation tests will only confuse you more because they are not meant to detect pregnancy. Sending you lots of good vibes!

Keep your thoughts positive and trust the timing of your life, my friend. Don't worry yourself with confusing results from ovulation kits when they aren't meant for this. Eat well, take deep breaths, and let a proper doctor or a standard test guide you gently.
