Can one lose weight during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester, and because of severe morning sickness, I've actually lost a few kilos instead of gaining. Is it normal or safe to lose weight during pregnancy?

Honestly please dont try to manage this on your own or ignore it. I lost some weight in my first trimester and thought it was just normal morning sickness, but it turned out my body was getting really dehydrated. Please get a proper checkup done by your gynae right away to be safe.

My wife actually faced this during her early months and we rushed to her doctor at Kokilaben hospital. The doctor told us that while minor fluctuations can happen due to nausea, any actual weight loss needs to be monitored. You should ask your doctor clearly about this in your next visit.

Losing weight when there is so much good food to crave sounds tough! But seriously, if morning sickness is making you skip your favourite kachoris and meals, weight might drop a bit. Just make sure you are eating whatever light home food you can digest and talk to your doctor.

Hey, don't stress too much about the scale right now! Sometimes when u have bad nausea, you naturally eat less and lose a bit initially. Just focus on keeping yourself hydrated and eat small meals, ok? Definitely check with your doc on your next visit just to feel relaxed.

Haha, I thought pregnancy only meant eating for two and gaining weight! But joke apart, my sister lost a couple of kilos in her first trimester because she couldn't stand the smell of food. It is pretty common, but don't try any weight loss plans now, leave that to the baby's rules!

During my pregnancy, I had to be super careful with my diet because of gestational diabetes. I actually lost a tiny bit of weight when I cut out extra sugars and simple carbs, but my doctor monitored it closely. Make sure any change in your weight is tracked by your medical team so baby gets proper nutrition.
