Can low vitamin b12 cause weight gain?

I'm trying my best to lose weight, but I'm not seeing any results, and I feel quite sluggish. My Vitamin B12 levels are also low. Could there be a connection between low B12 and weight gain?

Honestly, low B12 makes you so lethargic and tired that you barely move. When I was managing my high BP, my doctor made me get a full panel done and my B12 was bottomed out, which was ruining my daily walks. Once I started treatment and paid attention to my diet, my energy came back and weight started moving.

Yes, absolutely it can. When your B12 is super low, your metabolism just takes a massive hit because your cells aren't getting enough oxygen. Don't stress too much, just get a simple blood test and consult your doctor for supplements or shots. Also focus on dairy or eggs if you're vegetarian to keep the levels up.

I really understand how frustrating this is. I felt so lazy and kept gaining weight even though I wasn't eating much, and I kept blaming myself for being lazy. Finding out it was just a severe B12 deficiency was such a relief because it wasn't my fault. Please don't be hard on yourself, just get your blood test done.

Beta, don't worry too much about this. In our times we didn't track these vitamins so closely, but when I had severe weakness a decade ago, doctor told me it was B12 deficiency. I had put on some weight too because I just couldn't stay active due to constant fatigue. Just eat healthy home cooked food and follow your doctor's advice.

Hey, I totally get why you're worried, health stuff like this can really play with your mind. I used to panic searching every symptom online when I started gaining weight out of nowhere. Turns out my B12 was incredibly low, causing major fatigue. It is highly treatable, so please take a deep breath and see a doctor.

B12 is crucial for energy metabolism, bro. If you're running low, your workouts will suffer and you won't have the energy to burn calories, which indirectly leads to weight gain. Keep your diet balanced with lean proteins, dairy, or fortified foods, and definitely get your blood levels checked before starting any heavy dosage.

Is anyone else also feeling extremely weak along with the weight gain? I've been feeling so tired lately and my weight just won't budge even with light exercises. My friend told me it might be low B12. Did getting supplements actually help you guys lose the extra weight? I'm thinking of booking a test tomorrow.
