Can lack of vitamin'd cause weight gain?

Feeling quite sluggish and gaining weight slowly for the last year has me wondering. My friend told me that sometimes low Vitamin D can be a factor. Is it possible that a lack of Vitamin D could contribute to weight gain?

Honestly, low Vitamin D makes you feel so dull that you just end up lying on the couch ordering samosas and butter chicken. It messes with your satiety hormones too, making you crave junk. No wonder my weight shot up when my levels dropped!

Haan, bilkul hota hai. Vitamin D kam hone se hamara metabolism bohot slow ho jata hai na, toh hum jo bhi khate hain wo fat ban jata hai. Ek baar checkup karwa lo, iski supplements lene se weight control karne me kaafi help milti hai.

It does, but don't go to expensive hospitals for tests. Look for combined health packages online on apps like Tata 1mg, which usually offer Vitamin D and B12 together for under 700 rupees. It is much more practical and saves you a lot of money.

I didn't know this could happen, actually. I have been gaining weight suddenly even though my diet is the same, and my joints also hurt a lot lately. Do you think I should ask my doctor to write a Vitamin D test for me?

I ignored my bone pain and sudden weight gain for over a year, thinking it was just old age catching up. By the time I got tested, my Vitamin D was extremely low, which had weakened my bones severely. Please get a simple blood test done before it causes more damage.

At 50, if I look at a gulab jamun, I gain weight! But seriously, my doctor said my low Vitamin D was keeping my energy levels so low that I was barely walking. Once I finished the weekly tablet course, I felt active enough to start my morning walks again.
