Can i lose weight during pregnancy?

Before pregnancy, I was actively trying to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Now I'm worried about gaining too much during these months, actually. Is it possible or even advisable to try and lose weight while pregnant?

Losing weight intentionally during pregnancy is generally not recommended as your baby needs nutrients. Instead, focus on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods and doing light resistance training or walks if your doctor clears you. It's about fitness, not fat loss right now.

Unless prescribed by your doctor due to high BMI, trying to lose weight is not advised. You can use trackers to monitor your daily steps and ensure you are eating a balanced macro diet. Focus on healthy weight gain rather than trying to shred.

Puttar, don't worry about gaining weight right now, it is completely natural. To deal with nausea and keep your food down, try small ginger candies or fresh lemon water. Eat simple, wholesome meals and focus on your baby's strength rather than weight loss.

I've actually lost 2 kgs in my first trimester because of terrible morning sickness and vomiting. Is this normal? I am so worried that the baby is not getting enough nutrition, did anyone else experience this in their early weeks?

Oh, please don't try to actively diet right now, it could be really risky for the baby's development! I know how stressful body changes can be, but your body needs those extra calories. Make sure you talk to your gynaecologist before making any dietary changes.

At the hospital where my wife goes, the doctors strictly monitor weight gain every month. They told us that losing weight can sometimes indicate issues unless it's just mild loss in the first trimester. You should ask your gynaecologist directly to be safe.

Beta, pregnancy is a time for nourishment, not for dieting. Drink warm milk, eat fresh fruits, and take light walks in the morning. Trying to lose weight intentionally can harm the child, so focus on your health and keep a peaceful mind.

If you are overweight, your doctor might suggest managing your weight strictly to avoid gestational diabetes or high blood pressure. I have to monitor my BP daily and eat very clean. Make sure you get regular checkups and follow your doctor's specific advice.

Haan na, losing weight during this time is not good at all, ho na. If you are throwing up a lot and losing weight, you must tell your doctor. Otherwise, just enjoy your home-cooked meals and don't worry about the scale right now.

I lost weight in my first trimester due to severe nausea, and my doctor told me it's fine as long as I stay hydrated. Once you enter the second trimester, focus on small, frequent meals rather than large ones. Your appetite will return, so don't stress.
