Can i have a back massage in early pregnancy?

I just found out I'm in my early pregnancy, and my back has been really stiff lately. I usually love getting back massages to relax. Is it safe for me to have a back massage during these early stages of pregnancy?

In early pregnancy, it is better to avoid hard massages on the lower back, as there are pressure points that can be risky. You can do very light mustard oil rubbing at home, but please do not go for deep tissue or heavy parlor massages. Always ask your elder family members or doctor first.

According to most prenatal fitness trackers and pregnancy apps, deep back massages are generally not recommended in the first trimester. If you do go, make sure it is with a certified prenatal massage specialist who knows exactly which pressure points to avoid. Better yet, check with your gynecologist before booking.

Honestly, avoid heavy massages for the first three months. If your back is aching, just ask your partner to gently rub some warm oil or apply a warm compress. There is no need to take unnecessary risks with professional masseuses during this delicate time.

I survived early pregnancy on zero sleep and constant backaches, so I know the urge to get a massage is real! But honestly, skip the deep back massages for now because the first trimester is super delicate. Stick to pillows behind your back and warm baths until you get the green light from your doc.

When I was pregnant, my back was killing me in the first few weeks itself. My doctor strictly told me to avoid any professional back massage until the second trimester. After the fourth month, you can easily find certified prenatal massage therapist who knows how to handle it safely.

Haan, early pregnancy is a bit sensitive, na. Hard massages can sometimes trigger contractions if done on the wrong spots. If you really want some relief, just ask your husband to put light oil and do very gentle strokes, but definitely avoid those professional parlor ladies for now.
