Can hashimoto cause weight loss?

I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and I'm mostly experiencing fatigue and brain fog. I've also lost a bit of weight unexpectedly, so I'm confused if this condition can actually lead to weight loss sometimes.

Yes, sometimes in the early stages, Hashimoto's can cause a temporary hyperactive state leading to weight loss. Please take care and try to eat simple, nourishing meals while you get it sorted out.

I have PCOS and hormonal issues are so unpredictable. Usually Hashimoto's causes weight gain, but during the initial thyroid inflammation, it can occasionally cause weight loss. It’s best to get your thyroid levels checked regularly and consult an endocrinologist.

Beta, thyroid fluctuations can do strange things to the body's metabolism. You can drink warm ginger tea and eat seasonal fruits to support your digestion and strength. But please don't neglect your doctor's prescribed thyroid medicine, that is the most important.

Yes! When my sister was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's, she actually lost a lot of weight out of nowhere before it stabilized. It's called Hashitoxicosis, where the thyroid temporarily releases too much hormone. Definitely get your T3, T4, and TSH tested.

Dealing with autoimmune stuff requires a complete lifestyle check. Whether it's blood pressure or thyroid, keeping track of your salt, sugar, and regular checkups is vital. Sudden weight loss should always be discussed with your physician to adjust your treatment.

I panicked so much when I started losing weight rapidly, thinking something was severely wrong with me. But my doctor explained it was just a temporary phase of Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism. Once the medication was adjusted, everything went back to normal, so don't worry.

Bro, yes, it can happen. When my thyroid first went out of whack due to Hashimoto's, I actually dropped a few kgs because of the hormonal spikes. Get a proper thyroid panel done and show it to an endocrinologist as soon as possible.

Usually people complain about gaining weight with thyroid, so losing it might feel like a weird superpower! But honestly, it's just your thyroid acting like a confused DJ. Don't worry, once your doctor tunes the meds, your weight will behave itself.

Practically speaking, yes. Hashimoto's thyroiditis involves immune attacks that can temporarily cause hyperthyroidism, leading to unexpected weight loss. Make sure you take your prescription regularly and get your blood levels checked every 6 to 8 weeks.

Honestly, even if you are losing weight, make sure you aren't skipping meals. Hashimoto's can mess with your appetite, but you need good fats and proteins to keep your energy up. Don't rely on the weight loss as a diet plan, keep your doctor in the loop!
