Can gallbladder cause weight loss?

I've been losing weight unexpectedly, and it's making me a bit worried. My aunt recently had gallbladder surgery and mentioned losing weight before that. Could my gallbladder be causing this unintentional weight loss?

Yes, absolutely. Gallbladder issues can make eating very painful, leading to quick weight loss.

My teenage daughter lost a lot of weight when she had gallbladder inflammation because she was scared to eat anything heavy. We had to focus on light khichdi and soup. Please get a proper scan done for your peace of mind.

Yes, it is quite common to lose weight because of the nausea and digestive issues. Please take good care of yourself and see a doctor soon.

Honestly, skipping delicious cheesy food because of gallbladder fear is the ultimate weight loss diet! But seriously, if you are losing weight rapidly, it's time to stop the guessing game and see a doctor.

Yes, chronic cholecystitis or stones cause fat malabsorption and nausea, which naturally leads to weight loss. My gastroenterologist explained that the body fails to digest lipids properly when bile flow is compromised. Consult a doctor for a proper plan.

I am barely sleeping due to the gallbladder pain and, honestly, the sudden weight loss has made my clothes loose. It is definitely linked because eating fat feels like swallowing a bomb. Go see a doctor before you shrink completely.
