Can early stage of pregnancy cause fever and chills?

My period is late, and I've been feeling a bit warm with some chills, but no cough or cold symptoms. I'm wondering if this could be a sign of early pregnancy instead of just a minor infection. Is it normal to get a slight fever and chills early on?

My cousin actually had crazy chills and felt super feverish in her first month. She thought she caught a bad cold but it was just her body adjusting to the pregnancy. Pretty wild how hormones work.

The body goes through deep internal transformations to nurture a new soul, which can sometimes manifest as physical warmth or chills. Keep a positive mind, rest, and let the doctor guide you.

A slight increase in basal body temperature is normal, but actual fever with chills usually indicates an infection. Monitor your temperature with a thermometer and log it so you can show your doctor.

Your body's internal thermostat basically goes haywire right now. One minute you want the AC at 16, next minute you want a blanket. Don't worry too much, just keep your doctor in the loop.

I had chills during my fifth week too and was shivering under a blanket! It can happen as blood flow changes. Just make sure to check your temperature; if it is a real fever, check with your gynecologist.
