Can early pregnancy cause insomnia?

Only a few weeks into my pregnancy, I'm finding it really hard to fall asleep and stay asleep at night. I'm constantly tired. Can early pregnancy hormones or changes lead to insomnia?

Yes, sleep disturbances are highly common in the first trimester. Your body is working overtime, and hormonal shifts plus anxiety can keep you awake. Try avoiding screen time 1 hour before bed.

When we went to Fortis, our doctor clearly said that early pregnancy hormones cause vivid dreams and midnight waking. Don't take any over-the-counter sleep drops, just ask your doctor directly for safe options.

My elder sister was literally scrolling her phone till 4 AM during her first month. She said her mind just wouldnt shut down. Seems like a totally normal preggo thing!

Oh god, I am going through this right now and it is driving me crazy. Did anyone else also feel super exhausted during the day but completely awake at night?

My wife faced this and it even impacted her blood pressure levels. Please keep checking your BP regularly and make sure you do a little walking and eat dinner early to help with sleep.
