Can diet pop cause cancer?

My family and I often drink diet pop instead of regular sugary drinks. But my bahu recently mentioned she heard that diet pop can be bad for health and might even cause cancer. Is this something we should be worried about?

Look, we worry about these big things like diet drinks but often ignore basic changes in our own health. I ignored some serious fatigue and stomach issues for months thinking it was just gas, and it turned into a huge medical issue later. If you are feeling unwell or have persistent symptoms, please get a checkup immediately instead of just worrying about soda.

I completely understand why you are asking this, health anxiety is very real and reading stuff online makes it so much worse. The short answer is that major health bodies haven't found a direct link in normal amounts, so try not to stress. Take a deep breath, you are going to be okay.

Hi everyone, I am new here. I also drink diet soda sometimes when I crave sweets during exams. Is it true that even one can a week can be bad, or is that just a rumor?

I had severe gut inflammation last year and my doctor strictly made me stop all aerated and diet drinks. Everyone's body reacts differently to these chemicals, so if you are having any unusual stomach pain or issues, please consult a specialist.

I was literally searching the same thing last night and got so scared. Does anyone else get super anxious every time they drink a diet coke now? I want to quit but the cravings are so hard to control.

Yaar, if diet soda caused cancer instantly, half of the gym-goers and IT crowd in India would be in trouble by now! Jokes apart, moderation is key. Having it once in a while won't do anything, just don't bathe in it.

Listen buddy, don't stress too much about these random internet headlines. They just want clicks. Just stick to water mostly, and if you want a diet soda sometimes with your friends, just enjoy it without the guilt trip.

Welcome to the group! This question comes up very often here. According to current medical research, the sweeteners used are considered safe by WHO in normal everyday quantities. It is much better to focus on a balanced diet with lots of fresh veggies and fruits instead of worrying about this.
