Can diabetics drink diet pop?
My kids love fizzy drinks, and sometimes I feel like having one too, but I'm diabetic. I've seen 'diet pop' options. Is it okay for diabetics to drink diet pop, or are the artificial sweeteners still not good?

Haan na, sometimes we really want that fizzy taste with our meals. Diet pop has zero sugar so it won't affect your diabetes levels, which is good. But don't make it a daily habit, ho na? Plain water is always best.

It is safe to drink because it has zero carbs, so you won't have to worry about extra sugar spikes or buying expensive test strips. Just keep it as an occasional thing. No need to spend money buying cases of diet pop anyway.
My teenage son has type 1 diabetes and occasionally drinks diet pop at birthday parties. It doesn't spike his sugar at all, which is a relief. Just make sure the label clearly says zero sugar and zero calories before letting them drink it.

I used to get so stressed about drinking anything other than water, thinking my sugar would shoot up. But diet pop has zero sugar, so it is actually safe and won't cause a spike. You don't have to worry, just keep it in moderation.
