Can cymbalta help with weight loss?

My doctor has suggested I might need to start Cymbalta for my chronic pain and depression. I'm also trying to manage my weight. I was curious if Cymbalta has any effect on weight, and if it could potentially help with weight loss.

Actually, it depends from person to person. Some people lose weight initially due to nausea, but it is not a weight loss drug, so please consult your doctor.

Bro, I was on Cymbalta for my anxiety. In the first few weeks, my appetite went completely down and I lost like 3 kgs, but after that, my weight went back to normal. Don't take it just to lose weight, it's a serious anti-depressant.

Medications like these alter your brain chemistry and can have many side effects on weight. A calm mind through daily pranayama and a light Sattvik diet is a much safer way to manage weight naturally. Please talk to your physician.

I was researching this because my friend was prescribed Cymbalta. From what I read, it can cause both weight loss and weight gain depending on how your body reacts. It is definitely not meant to be used as a weight loss pill.

I really struggled with my body image when my doctor started me on Cymbalta. The constant nausea made me lose weight at first, which made me feel weak and miserable. Please focus on your mental healing first rather than the scale numbers.
