Can cpap help with weight loss?

My doctor suggested I start CPAP therapy for my sleep apnea, and I'm also trying to lose some weight. I heard from a friend that sometimes improving sleep can help with weight management. Can using a CPAP machine actually aid in weight loss efforts?

I ignored my snoring and fatigue for years, which made me gain 15 kgs because I had no energy to move. Once I started CPAP, my energy returned and I could finally exercise. Please get your sleep study done.

CPAP indirectly aids weight loss by normalizing your hunger hormones, ghrelin and leptin, which get disrupted by poor sleep. However, it must be paired with diet and exercise. Discuss a holistic plan with your doctor.

Honestly, yes. Ever since I started using CPAP, I don't wake up tired, so I don't crave random sugary snacks for instant energy anymore. It makes hit the gym way easier.

It definitely helps. When you sleep poorly, your cortisol levels spike, which forces your body to hold onto fat. CPAP fixes your sleep cycle, making weight loss much more achievable.

Oh absolutely! Better sleep means your metabolism finally works properly. Don't stress too much about losing weight overnight, just use the machine regularly and you'll see the difference yourself.

My somnologist explained that treating obstructive sleep apnea with CPAP reduces nocturnal hypoxia, which improves insulin sensitivity. This physiological shift makes it significantly easier to shed stubborn fat.

At my age, losing weight is very hard. But after starting CPAP six years ago, my daytime fatigue vanished, allowing me to go for regular morning walks. It has been a blessing for my health.

I know how stressful it is to struggle with weight and sleep issues at the same time. CPAP really helps by giving you the physical energy to stay active during the day, which is a huge relief.
