Can blood pressure medication cause weight loss?

My doctor put me on a new blood pressure medication a few months ago, and I've noticed I'm losing weight without really trying to. Could this be a side effect of the medicine? Can blood pressure medication cause weight loss?

Do not trust random weight loss claims associated with blood pressure medications online. While some drugs like diuretics can cause temporary water weight loss, unexplained weight loss can be a sign of other medical issues. Always verify your symptoms with a certified medical doctor.

Some BP medicines can cause a reduction in weight due to fluid loss, but sudden weight loss is not typical. Before spending money on expensive diet plans, get a basic blood and thyroid test package from a pocket-friendly lab and consult your doctor with the reports.

I once ignored rapid weight loss while taking my BP pills, assuming it was just a side effect, but it turned out to be an underlying thyroid issue. Please do not assume anything and get a proper medical checkup done immediately.

BP medications like water tablets can reduce fluid retention, which might look like weight loss on the scale. For healthy and lasting weight management, combine your prescribed medical treatment with gentle daily pranayama and a satvik diet.

Man, I wish my blood pressure medicine caused some magical weight loss so I didn't have to hit the gym after sleep-deprived nights! Joking aside, some water-shedding pills might drop your weight slightly, but actual fat loss won't happen. Better check with your doctor.
