Can afib go away with weight loss?

My doctor recently suggested I lose some weight for my overall health. I also have afib, and I'm curious if losing a significant amount of weight can actually make afib go away completely, or at least improve it a lot.

My doctor told me that if I lose weight, my AFib might improve. I'm really trying but it's so hard to lose weight with this anxiety. Has anyone actually managed to reverse their AFib completely just by slimming down?

Losing weight helps reduce the burden on your heart, which can certainly help reduce AFib episodes. However, because thyroid issues can also trigger heart rhythm problems, make sure you get your thyroid levels and heart tested regularly.

Losing weight definitely helps reduce AFib burden! I use a smartwatch to track my heart rate variability and active minutes, which really helps me stay on top of my cardio health. Try tracking your daily steps and see the difference.

Drinking warm lemon water and eating fiber-rich food can help you lose weight, which is excellent for your heart. However, AFib is a clinical condition, so please keep visiting your doctor for checkups while you lose weight.

Weight loss can definitely help calm the heart's rhythm. My son had minor rhythm issues and keeping his weight in a healthy range really helped his overall heart comfort. Please support your loved one through this transition.

As someone managing high blood pressure, I know that weight loss helps reduce both BP and AFib symptoms. But don't rely only on lifestyle changes; keep getting regular checkups with your cardiologist to be safe.

Losing weight makes a massive difference! I cut down on junk, lost about 12 kgs, and my AFib episodes dropped drastically. It might not 'go away' permanently for everyone, but it makes the condition much easier to manage.

Shedding extra pounds reduces atrial stretching, which helps control AFib. If your cardiologist clears you, starting with regular brisk walks and a clean diet is the best way to support your heart health.
