Are tomatoes good for weight loss?

Trying to lose some weight before my cousin's wedding next year. I heard tomatoes are really good for weight loss because they're low in calories. Is this true, or is it just another food fad?

I am just starting my fitness journey and trying to eat clean. I heard tomatoes are low calorie so I started adding them to my salads. Do we have to eat them raw for weight loss, or is it okay to cook them in normal home food too?

Yes, tomatoes are excellent as they have high water content and keep you full. Along with a simple tomato-cucumber salad, try practicing Kapalbhati daily for 15 minutes. It naturally boosts digestion and helps with healthy weight management over time.

My mother always says that tomatoes and rasam are great for clearing out the system and keeping you light. They are indeed low in calories. But if you have any uric acid or kidney stone issues, please consult your doctor before increasing your intake.

Don't run after complicated diet trends, child. In our youth, we just ate simple ghar ka khana like dal, roti, and tomato-onion sabzi, and we stayed fit. Just eat homemade meals on time and go for a brisk walk daily morning and evening.

Just eating tomatoes won't magically reduce weight, you need a calorie deficit. Also, please get your thyroid and lipid levels checked first if you are struggling with sudden weight gain. It is safer to address the root cause with a proper physician.

I tried so many weight loss drinks but honestly, simple changes work best. A bowl of warm home-made tomato soup before dinner really helped cut down my portion size because it filled me up. Give it a try, it is cheap and very practical.

They are quite good because they have a low glycemic index and don't spike my sugars. I include them in my daily meals to stay full without overloading on carbs. Just don't consume them in the form of processed sweet tomato ketchups.
