Are squats good for weight loss?

I've been trying to lose weight for a while and have been focusing on cardio. Now I'm thinking of adding more strength training. Will doing squats regularly help me in my weight loss journey, or are they more for muscle building?

When I was younger, I used to do simple sit-ups and squats daily at home. They really help keep your lower body strong and toned. Just make sure to keep your back straight so you don't hurt your spine.

Squats do burn a lot of calories because they use large muscles, but I always worry about my knees popping. Make sure your knees don't go past your toes when bending, bad form can cause long-term joint issues.

Squats are great for weight loss, but the real struggle is sitting on the toilet the next morning! Jokes aside, they build muscle which burns fat even when you are just sitting on the couch.

You don't need expensive gym memberships to lose weight. Just do 3 sets of 15 bodyweight squats at home every day along with avoiding sweet tea. It is simple, effective, and completely free.

As a diabetic, large muscle exercises like squats are amazing because they help absorb glucose from the blood quickly. Just monitor your sugar levels so they don't drop too low after a workout.

Squats (Utkatasana or Chair Pose) build excellent core strength and internal heat, which naturally aids metabolism. Do them slowly with deep breathing rather than rushing, the mindful way yields lasting results.

Slightly overrated if you think squats alone will make you lose weight. Weight loss is 80% diet. Please don't blindly follow fitness reels; if you have any back or knee issues, consult a doctor before doing heavy squats.
