Are smoothies bad for weight loss?

My friend told me smoothies are bad for weight loss because they contain a lot of hidden calories and sugar. I actually like them and thought they were a healthy option. Are smoothies really bad if you're trying to reduce weight?

Let's be clear: smoothies are usually bad for weight loss because they are packed with hidden sugars and calories. You blend three bananas and some honey and call it diet food. It's a joke. Eat solid food if you actually want to stay full.

Smoothies are so expensive to make at home with all those imported berries, chia seeds, and almond milk. Honestly, simple ghar ka khana like dal-rice or upma is much cheaper, healthier, and easier on your monthly budget for weight loss.

I'm researching weight loss tips and found out that blending fruits destroys their natural fiber. This means you digest them too quickly and get hungry again soon. It seems whole fruits are much better than smoothies for staying full.

I went on an all-smoothie diet for a month and ended up with severe stomach bloating and acidity issues. My doctor strictly warned me against replacing solid meals with blended drinks. Please consult a doctor or clinical nutritionist before starting such diets.

Losing weight with thyroid issues is very hard, and sweet smoothies definitely didn't help my case. I had to get my TSH levels tested first and follow my doctor's strict meal plan. If you are struggling, please get your blood tests done first.

I completely understand the anxiety of trying to find the 'perfect' diet and worrying if every single thing you eat is ruining your progress. Smoothies are fine occasionally, but don't stress over them. Simple, sustainable food habits are what actually work.

From a nutritional standpoint, smoothies are not inherently bad, but they can easily become calorie-dense. Liquid calories also offer less satiety than solid foods. It is always best to consult a certified dietitian to design a weight loss plan tailored to your body.

Smoothies are great post-workout if you add whey protein and keep the fruit portion controlled. But if you are just sitting at home drinking fruit-heavy smoothies, it will stall your weight loss. Track your macros and keep moving.

I recently lost 5 kgs and the first thing I did was cut out morning smoothies. Replacing them with whole boiled eggs and a cup of black coffee made a massive difference. You actually feel much more energetic and full.

Bro, smoothies are way too much effort to make in a hostel anyway. And honestly, they have so much sugar that you might as well just eat a chocolate bar. Stick to normal gym diet if you want real results.
