Are situps good for weight loss?

My friend told me that doing lots of situps can really help shed kilos. I'm trying to get back in shape after my pregnancy. Is it true that situps are good for weight loss?

I tried doing 30 situps once and immediately felt like eating a butter chicken roll to reward myself! Honestly, you can't out-exercise a bad diet. Situps won't save us if we keep giving in to those late-night Swiggy cravings, trust me.

I was reading some fitness blogs today and they all say spot reduction is a lie. Situps will strengthen your abs, but they won't burn the fat layer over them. You need to do full-body exercises to actually see any weight loss happen.

When I went to Fortis for my annual health checkup, I asked the doctor about core exercises. He clearly advised me to avoid high-impact situps due to my mild disc bulge. Please consult your physician before starting any rigorous abdominal routine to avoid permanent spinal injury.

I am very new to working out and a bit scared of hurting myself. Do situps really help with fat loss, or is walking a better option for beginners like me? Pls let me know what worked for you guys initially.

Haan na, everyone thinks belly fat will go away just by doing situps. But actually, it just makes your back pain worse if done wrongly. Better to do simple walking and eat less oil, ho na.

For weight loss and managing my sugar levels, my doctor told me that full-body movements are much better than simple situps. Walking or yoga burns energy more consistently. Always check with your diabetologist about what physical activity fits your specific blood sugar profile.

Let's be direct: situps are a waste of time for weight loss. They burn almost zero calories compared to weight lifting or running. Fix your diet first and track your daily steps if you actually want to see changes on the scale.

In our times, we did regular manual work and walked to the local market which kept us fit without any fancy situps. Drink warm water with lemon in the morning and eat simple, home-cooked food. If your joints are weak, do not strain yourself with these hard exercises.
