Are probiotics good for weight loss?

A friend mentioned probiotics could help with weight loss, and I'm keen to try anything that actually works. I've been struggling to shed those stubborn kilos for a while now. Do probiotics really make a difference for weight management?

Honestly, I tried everything from warm honey-lemon water to high-end probiotic supplements for weight loss. Probiotics do improve your digestion and reduce bloating, which makes you feel lighter, but they won't magically melt fat without a proper diet control.

Don't fall for these internet fitness trends claiming probiotics will make you thin overnight. There is no shortcut to calorie deficit. Check with a certified clinical nutritionist or doctor before wasting money on these supplements.

Instead of buying expensive weight loss pills, just include fresh homemade dahi or chaas in your meals. It is a wonderful natural probiotic. But if you have sudden, unexplained weight gain or loss, please consult a doctor to check for thyroid or other underlying issues.

Please be careful. I started taking strong over-the-counter probiotic pills for weight loss and ended up with severe bloating and stomach cramps that lasted weeks. It is always safer to consult a doctor before starting any supplement.

They only help indirectly by keeping your digestion smooth, which is good when you are changing your diet. Don't expect miraculous weight loss from them. Just focus on your daily steps and portion control.
