Are potatoes bad for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose a few kilos, and everyone says to cut down on carbs, especially potatoes. I love potatoes in any form, so it's a real struggle. Are potatoes genuinely bad for weight loss, or can they be eaten in moderation?

Aloo is not the villain, guys! It is the butter, cheese, and deep-frying that turns our innocent aloo into a calorie bomb. Plain boiled potato is actually quite filling and won't ruin your weight loss if you don't eat a mountain of it.

No, boiled potatoes are very high in satiety and perfectly fine for weight loss. Just avoid fried potatoes like French fries.

If you look at the calorie density, a medium boiled potato is only about 110 calories, which is super easy to fit into your calorie tracker. It has great satiety index, so you won't feel hungry soon. Just track your portions on an app and you're good.

When I joined the weight management program at Max Hospital, the chief clinical dietician told me that potatoes are not the enemy if cooked properly. It really depends on your overall daily calorie budget and medical conditions. Ask your doctor or dietician for a clear meal structure.

I completely understand the anxiety of looking at your plate and worrying if every single carb is going to make you gain weight. I used to be terrified of potatoes too. But honestly, once I realized boiled potato is actually very satisfying and kept me full, my fear went away.
