Are parsnips good for weight loss?

My dietitian suggested adding more root vegetables to my diet for better health. I saw parsnips at the market for the first time, and I'm wondering if they could specifically help with my weight loss goals.

Honestly yaar, I'm barely surviving on 3 hours of sleep and now we are talking about parsnips? They are low in calories so they probably work, but let's be real, who actually enjoys eating these instead of a good old aloo? If you have the willpower, go for it!

I tried incorporating parsnips into my meal prep last month because they are high in fiber and keep you full. But honestly, they are so hard to find in local Indian markets and take forever to prep after a long office shift. Stick to carrots or radish, they do the exact same job and are way easier on your daily schedule.

Please be careful while changing your diet drastically for weight loss. I once went on a fiber-heavy exotic veggie diet and ended up with severe bloating and gut issues that needed a doctor's intervention. Best to ask a proper clinical nutritionist before swapping your regular meals with new vegetables.

Yes, they absolutely help with weight loss because of the fiber content which stops random cravings. What worked for me was roasting them with a tiny bit of olive oil and jeera powder. Don't go overboard, just replace one portion of your heavy carbs with them and you will see a difference.

I am actually quite new to this diet planning thing and trying to shed some weight safely. Are parsnips easily available in local subzi mandis, or do we have to order them from fancy apps? Also, do they taste sweet like carrots?

They are great for keeping you in a calorie deficit because of the high water and fiber content. But remember, no single vegetable will magically melt fat unless your overall daily calories are in check and you are staying active. Pair them with a good protein source after your workout!
